ABOUT DR MARKOU Dr Michael Markou was born in Yonkers New York in 1965. His family moved to Clearwater, Florida in 1977 where he attended middle school and high school. He received his Bachelors degree from the University of South Florida in 1987. He attended the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 1991. He then finished his internship and residency in Family Medicine at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo Florida in 1994 when he went into private practice in Clearwater, Florida. Upon finishing residency and starting private practice, Dr Markou completed training in Hair Transplant Surgery and was practicing full time in Family Medicine and Hair Transplant Surgery by January of 1995. He has since then researched and published several articles in major medical journals, has appeared in several television specials, and hosted his own radio talk show. He has been involved in training medical students and residents since 1994, and has trained several hair restoration surgeons as well. He founded Markou Medical Center which comprises 3 different branches; Primary Health Care, Hair Restoration Surgery, and The Advanced Medical Cosmetic Hair and Laser Institute of Tampa Bay. Dr Michael Markou has offered weight control at his office for several years. The program consists of three phases. During the first phase , either phentermine, or phendimetrazine is used as an appetite surpressor along with fat metabolizers and calcium pyruvate for fat burning.
